Friday On My Mind...

Its been one heck of a week, and I am so glad its almost over! Its definitely one I will be happy to see the back of.

My life might have been suckful this week, but the new stuff at the Striking Poses Boutique Stores have been anything but!

Thank you to Kristya from Core for bouncing over to my place this morning and taking these awesome pics for me! The lip ring is fabulous! With the Monroe beauty spot piercings either side on the top lip and a labret one under the ring which pierces the bottom lip. There's a nose piercing too, but you cannot see due to the picture angle. Another new release is the Cuppycake Lounger which comes with 8 built in sitting poses. Yummeh!!!!! I could just dive on in and nom this all up! Its a fabulous novelty item from Core! Also added to the Core mainstore Lucky Boards is a new and exclusive, never to be sold in the store, pair of Heartz Short Shortz! These kick serious (no pun intended, or maybe it is) butt!

With the shape, you get a style card with skin, hair, eyes and everything else you need to make your Avi look like the stunning picture on the board.

I was distracted by something shiny last week and totally forgot to share with you this absolutely gorgeous dress from Pout. It can work in so many ways, as a playsuit with the shorts, as a slim knee length dress or with the shorter flippy skirt that has great movement and is sure to get you noticed! You could even wear the top with jeans or a pair of smart trousers. The fabric is amazing! I love the silky sheen and oriental feel of the design on it. There's 8 colours to choose from, this blue is my favourite though. What I love about hunts is the little extras you find in stores along the way. At Jazmyn D I found the Midnight Mania board, so I slapped it and got my name into the draw and luckily so did 99 other people, cos look what I received at midnight! You cannot go past a lovely sparklie dress, especially one in such a vibrant shade of red! On the back is a heart shaped cutout which gives it a lovely touch. After slapping the board, I found the Discovery Gift. Called tasty, you receive a lovely vest top with a cute little design on the bodice and a skirt which can be worn with or without the tights.

Ok are those pasties just the coolest things ever or what? Little pink heart hide your important bits while big black hands cover the rest! I think they are just so much fun! Perfect for those "Barely There" events too or just for teasing your partner. They look great with the shorts too! I love cats! When I saw this at the Core mainstore, it was an immediate purchase. Its nice having a big friend you can cuddle up with and I tend to do that a lot lately. Also when I was there, I slapped Core's Midnight Mania board and wo0t! I received a pack of 10 cute Grunge Floral textures! I've used them for cushion textures in my house and even photo surrounds. They are so versatile. I've transparented (is that even a word?) the one I used by 50% and it still looks fab!

Thuper Thursday Things!

Its Thursday which means...almost the weekend!!!! I have some great things for you today, so I'm going to jump right into it!

Her mother was human, her father a Vampire...she is neither. She is a Dhampir. Originally starting out as an action-adventure video game character, BloodRayne has inspired movies and even comic books. Body Doubles brings you BloodRayne as portrayed by Kristianna Loken in the 2006 movie, which I highly do not recommend seeing. The movie may suck eggs, but Rayne is a gorgeous Dhampir and is a shape all Vampire enthusiasts should have in their collection. This is one lady who kicks major butt! You need to have her in your shape collection!

I was looking through the amazing textures from Core, and found the perfect one for the picture backdrop. Featuring a gold skull and crossbones, this is an incredible texture and has such a lovely silky texture again. You need to check these out. They have so many uses and at $300 for a pack of 20, its a good buy.

Yes I'm still in Princess Mode and wearing my tiara. It just goes with everything and looks fabulous with these two gorgeous dresses from DollyRock! First we have the Georgette 2 dress which is a variation of the Georgette gown released last week to celebrate St George's Day in England. Tradition is to wear a red rose through your lapel...or in this case, all over a gorgeous dress. The Georgette 2 dress comes with the shoes featuring a tiny rose on the top. Just stunning. Also new this week is Alice - a playful and cute dress in a pink gingham check with tiny hearts dangling from the bottom of the skirt. Looks like DollyRock's Alice beat the Queen of Hearts and is sporting trophies! Run on in to the mainstore and look under the subscribo - which you neeeed to hit up - and you'll see the Choc Bunny shirt still out as the free gift.

From one of newest stores comes the patriotic Stars n Stripes dress. I feel like Miss America in this picture...and look like her too! Tiaras have that effect. From Rainbow's End, the Stars n Stripes dress comes with two skirt options...long and short...and also comes with shoes! The skirts look great when dancing and its just what you need cos July 4th isn't too far away really. Okay its 2 months away, but you can never have too much stuff right ladies??? Imagine all the parties and events you will need to dress up for! Like we need an excuse though!

I missed Ake yesterday, but she will be back with us tomorrow with more fabulous pictures and poses from Striking Poses to show us. I enjoy watching how she uses them in creative and inspiring ways.

Hooray for the Weekend!!!!

I had a bit of fun with this pic. I used a prop from one of my fav prop places, one of Zelly's fabulous poses and came up with something a bit different. I really need to start paying attention to what is in folders when I opened them! I missed seeing the resize instructions for the fab boots from Core, so I look like a child wearing mummy's shoes in this pic! They are so totally cool though and perfect for a grunge/urban/neko look. The resizer is very easy to work as well. I feel so silly for not noticing it sooner!

To go with it, I pulled on one of my fav shirts from SySy - which might have been retired. There is a SALE on at the mainstore of SySy at the moment. Selected styles are being sold for $50 or $99, so if there is something you have been hanging out to buy, rush on in, cos you might be picking it up for a bargain! There is a LM at her Striking Poses Boutique!

To complete the look I found the most amazing jeans from xTotalxBettyx in my inventory! I've been searching through their stores but cannot find them for sale there, so I'm again unsure if they are current stock. They are fabulously sexy though. Roses are my favourite flowers and these jeans have a gorgeous red rose on the back pockets. Their mainstore has been remodelled and there are some glorious new designs for sale, so pop on in, grab a LM and check it out!

Thursday Yummies!

I'm a wee bit tired today...mostly cos I have been up since 5:30am with Miss Short, Evil and Blonde...so I haven't had the time or energy to do pics for today's post so I'll be using screenshots instead.

New to our Boutique Stores is Milady's Fancy. I'm totally in lust with the Alix dress in the pic and I know you will be too once you see it. Delicate lace panels run down the sides of a sparkly and sexy cocktail dress which is just the yummiest I have seen in a while. It comes in a range of colours for those prefer a more colourful look.

If you have been loving the Lady GaGa poses, why not grab the Lady GaGa shape from Body Doubles. She's saucy, sexy and always provocative and would be a great addition to anyone's shape collection. Or if you just want sexy, there's the new Nelly Furtado shape available now. Two very hot ladies and very hot shapes. Its a hard decision.

G Sloane Couture has been busy creating new and sexy things for us this week. One of my favs is Fit To Be Tied (pictured above). Is it a dress, its it lingerie? It can be both...sexy sheer silk ribbons of silk wrap around your body as a base, then topped by satin ribbons loosely draped, combined with a sheer chiffon skirt but also a solid coordinating underskirt so you can wear this in the boudior or at a gala. It comes in lilac and in black and is just gorgeous.

Not only does Core have cute accessories, furniture and photography...but now they have introduced a range of textures! These will look great as a photo background or for any other uses. Don't forget about the photo contest Core is running!

Elegant is how I would describe the Mademoiselle Fleur dress. Its the classic strapless form fitting dress which ends just above the knees for a sexy touch. The fabric has a gorgeous starburst pattern which gives it a sparkling look without the bling. I have had the lusties for this dress for a while now, and when I saw it was down to $125, well its now in my inventory!!! For a sexy Autumn/Winter look (for us in the Southern Hemisphere anyway) is the Beans on Toast dress. I just love that name too. It comes with matching long socks with slouchies at the ankles and knees. The flares at the wrists and the low cut neckline give this dress a super sexy look for any professional lady or just for anyone who wants to dress to impress!

I had some free time last week so I decided to check out Core's mainstore and hit the jackpot! Not only did I pick up a cute pink bangle set for free, but I won the skirt, stockings and legwarmer set one of Core's lucky boards! The LM to Core's mainstore is in her Boutique Store at Striking Poses. As an added bonus, you receive a tattoo along with it. So if you like the cute jewellry and accessories you see in the Core Boutique Store, you need to check out the mainstore! You'll find amazing furniture, fantastic examples of Kristya's photography, the lucky chair, boards and so much more. What are you waiting for?

We are pleased to welcome Medusa's Joy to our Boutique Stores. Here you will find an eclectic collection of everything from sexy and teasing lingerie to clubwear and eveningwear. The Morgaine outfit I am wearing is just a wonderful example of Medusa's Joy wear. It has a sexy bodice and a sexy skirt with a black lace underskirt. It moves wonderfully and will look fantastic when you are out dancing the night away. The pink version is Medusa's Joy's group gift and will be available for $1 on Xstreet. There are other colours available and they are $350 each.

Look at the movement of the skirt! Watching it flying around as I changed poses was too good an opportunity to miss, so I caught a picture of it to share with you. The dress can be worn with a jacket layer, which gives the detailing over the fron of the bodice, on or off. It is also available in other colours. The blue is at the Katz Boutique Store. For the black and others, grab a LM and check out their mainstore. You'll love watching the skirt flying around as much as I do I bet!

Quirky and fun. Thats how I would describe Core and the fabulous things you can buy there. The necklace is just so adorable. If you are a huge cupcake fan like I am, you'll love the detail that has gone into this. The little cupcake is almost good enough to eat! Then slap on some blue eyeshadow, find your biggest hair and slip on the funky 80s bangles! These are gorgeous and soooo....funky!

This is just a terrific outfit for wearing out shopping or hanging out with friends. There is an adorable tank top which can be worn on its own or under the amazing cardigan which has the cutest fur trim down the front. I love the pants too. The colour and cut is beautiful and the detailing up around the waistband just adds a little extra.

Things never stand still here in Second Life and neither do our Boutique Stores. We have several new and awesome stores for you to explore and fall in love with.

Body Doubles
Since my noob days in Second Life, I have always had a Body Doubles shape. I started out with the free newbie shape in their wonderful free pack for newbies, and eventually found one I liked enough to buy and keep as my official shape. Body Doubles specialise in creating celebrity shapes for males and females. They even have a range of shapes specially designed to work with some of the more popular skin ranges. New releases include the shapes inspired by the movie Twilight. At $600 each, they are a bargain for fans of the books and movie. A reminder, you are just purchasing the shape. There is a notecard included which does list everything (ie skin, hair, clothing etc) that has been used in the display pictures. And they go perfectly with the poses you will find downstairs at Striking Poses.

Laval Fashions
Cute, sexy and fun is how I would describe Laval Fashions. The prices are awesome too. I just love jeans, and the Lexy Blue Jeans are so cute. They are a bit lighter than the picture shows and the texture is really lovely. The bottoms can be attached for the more flared look or without for wearing with boots. Laval Fashions is worth having a look around.

This is fast becoming a favourite store of mine. I have already bought a couple of outfits from it and could easily add the entire store inventory to mine! The clothes are sexy, sophisticated and the prices are great! This is a store you need to peek in and see if you can escape without making a purchase!

Katz
A fairly new store, Katz has been around for approximately 6 months, selling moderately priced clothing from casual wear to formal and wedding gowns. I especially liked the rich chocolate colour of this gown. Browns are often overlooked in the formal wear department, so its nice to see it is making an appearance. For more colour options on all items, the full ranges are at the Katz mainstore.

Sexton's Photography
Seems only fitting that at a pose store you would find a photography studio advertising its services. The studio isn't located at the Striking Poses mainstore, but by clicking the sign, you will receive notecards and a LM to the Sexton's Photography main location. Also for all the people out there who love entering photo competitions, there is one being run by Sexton's Photography ending March 30th, so get your Striking Poses packed up and give it a shot! All information on the competition and Sexton's rates are in the notecards.

Introducing the Boutique Stores 1

The Boutique Stores are looking great up on the third floor of the Striking Poses mainstore. If you haven't been and had a look around yet...what are you waiting for?

I'm so excited about the stores that I can help but jump the gun a bit and share some of the awesomeness with you a wee bit early this week.

I'm a huge Pink fan, so broke out pink hair and the awesome new Pink poses to bring you a preview of two of the great stores we have up on the third floor.

If you are an 80s child like I am, you will love the 80s retro tees featuring such 80s icons as Jem, Smurfette, My Little Pony - to name a few, and if not, there are cute fairy duster skirts and an outfit that has me giggling over the name - Rumplebump. The thigh socks are fabulous too...and a great price. There is a LM to Gumdrop's mainstore, so check it out.

Milly Molly
Great clothing at wonderful prices. Some of the clothing also has that 80s vibe, featuring mini skirts and dresses teamed up with tights. I don't care what anyone says, I loved that look then and still love it now! Whilst browsing, pick up the free facelight and the dollarbie baby butterflies! I especially love the dancing Yippi and could spend hours mesmerised by it.

A new look for an old SL designer. Wanting a fresher, sexier and younger look, Pout was born. The newest release is the Sophisticat Dress which comes with 4 skirt options in the full pack which is an absolute steal at only $399. You get the sexy panel skirt, a mini flexi skirt, the assymetrical lace skirt and the full ballgown skirt. However, if you are not a gown fan, it does come in a pack with just the panel and flexi mini skirt options for only $200. Your colour options are red, purple and black. Its a very versatile "must have" for any inventory!
