She's My Cherry-Pie!

To all Americans and Canadians, have a safe and happy 4th!!!

We've decided to make a change to my Saturday blogs. Instead of showing you more fab goodies from the Harlow stores, I'm going to be interviewing our talented designers and sotre owners instead, so you can get to know a bit more about them and where their ideas come from etc.

My first interview is the gorgeous, talented, fabulous (yes she paid me to say all this) Cherry Cheevers, the woman behind DollyRock!

Who is Cherry Cheevers :
Me! Just the same as I am in real life, no RP, no drama - a very lucky woman who counts her blessings every single day to have had the good fortune to have found Second Life and the wonderful people that inhabit this space of ours.

How did you get into designing :
I used to design clothes for a specialist type of Asian doll called BJD's (ball jointed dolls) or 'Dollfies' in real life and I also had several years experience of Photoshop. When I discovered Second Life it seemed an obvious path to combine aspects of these two interests.

What would you say your main inspiration is :
Everything! Can't pin that one down. It could be the pattern on a pencil case or the cute pair of socks a goth girl is wearing when I'm in town.

Does your DollyRock style reflect your RL style :
Not really, generally the DollyRock style is rather more outrageous than my own style :-)

What would you say your design niche is :
I guess DollyRock is known for satisfying the inner raunch and I do love to make teh sexy!

What is your favourite creation :
The last one I made:-)

What is the one you wish had stayed in your head :
Hmm there are a few - probably my first 30 outfits when I was learning the ropes..and NO you're not getting pics :-)

What is the biggest challenge facing designers today :
The state of the economy immediately springs to mind of course, both RL and SL and the every changing shifts in the fast moving environment that is Second Life - oh you just wanted one?

Whats the biggest benefit for designers in SL :
Once you accept the restrictions of the avatar mesh as designers in SL we have enormous freedom to go wild with our creativity, we don't have to worry about fabric costs or gravity, for example :-)

Where do you see yourself and DollyRock this time next year :
World domination is the plan!! No...seriously...I'm very happy where I am. Creating outfits that my customers enjoy. Did I mention I have the BEST customers in SL? *waves*

Where do you like to shop :That's such a mean question! I hate to single people out, there are so many fabulous designers out there. I rarely buy clothes these days..but shoes - Bax, Moodys, Shiny Things. Hair: Too many!! From ETD to Damselfly and a horrible weakness for Sky Everett's hair.

What is your biggest fashion weakness :
Hair...no shoes...no hair...shall we say hair and shoes?

What do you do in SL when you're not designing :
Are you a stalker?? I guess 90% of my time in SL is taken up with some sort of DollyRock related activity. The rest is shared between hanging at zyngo, tripping the light fantastic and MOYB :-)

What is something no-one knows about you :
I can milk a goat! (Actually a few people know that.)

Most embarrassing SL moment to date - pics would also be good :
Easy! This was a few hours before I opened my sim for the first time after several weeks of setting it up. One click and I sent 95% of the whole place back to my inventory. I had to promise a Linden my first born to get a quick roll back. You think I took pictures? Are you nuts?

I still have the first outfit I ever bought from DollyRock, so I dusted it off and slipped it on and took a picture. It was back in my "dancer days", days now sent off into repressed memory territory. I don't think I ever got to wear it on stage though. Those days were pretty short-lived and I moved onwards and upwards, much like Cherry Cheevers and DollyRock. Two and a half years later she and her store are still going strong and still churning out fabulous and sexy clothes at affordable prices.

Wo0t its Monday!!!!

Yay its a new week...which means new releases, new bargains and new goodies!!!

Just a quick update on vacancies at Harlow before I jump into sharing some yummies from the stores. We have one 50 prim store left on the dock, two 75 prim stores in the courtyard, one 100 prim store and the second fabulous main store still up for grabs. I was spending some time fishing on the Harlow docks today, and decided to check out the stores we have there. I was blown away by the sexy and seductive lingerie I found in Rattenscharf and just HAD to have this set. Aptly named "seductive beauty", it features a tiny thong underneath an open babydoll camisole with a sexy halterneck. How could anyone resist your charms when you wear this? If you love lingerie as much as I do, you should check this store out asap.

This is the outfit I fell in love with at MEB when I first visited their store on Harlow. I just LOVE how real the jacket looks, not only in design, but the textures used...wow! With it comes a grey tank top to be worn either underneath or without the jacket, and a sexy pair of jeans with "touch me" emblazened on the butt! I love wearing the outfit without the tank top. Its just so sexy! Run in and have a closer look and try to resist buying it. I dare you!!!!

Named after one of the queens of SL jewellry, Alyssa Bijoux, the Alyssa dress from DollyRock is a stunner! Like DR's talented designer, the first jewellry I bought in SL was also from one of her stores! I wish I still had it, but I let my ex borrow it for a photoshoot and he never returned it. *inserts grumpy face* I did still have a lovely teardrop set which I wore with this gorgeous tribute to a talented lady. Delicate embossing decorates the left side of the bodice which is echoed on the hem of the knee length skirt. Subtle shading and lace trim complete this sophisticated look of this classy cocktail dress.

Another thing you can never have too many of this summer is sexy sundresses! And what is even better, Jazmyn D is still having their 15% off sale at their Harlow store only, so this dress will cost you $149 - 15%! Okay I cheated and went into the store and $126 is what this dress will cost you, so pop in and see the fabulous savings you will make for yourself! You can afford to buy it in all colours! Its the perfect outfit for shopping, lunching with friends or even fishing! Which is where I wore it tonight!

Earlier today though I spent some time fishing and look what I caught! I didn't catch a message in a bottle, I caught a Genie!!!! To be exact, I caught a fabulous Barbara Eden pose!!! To make fishing at Harlow even more fun, Zelly has added some of her poses to the prize pool. Hidden in there is a fabulous couples pose too. Which one? I dunno. I haven't snagged it yet, but I'm trying!!!

For those who don't know how to fish with 7seas, here's a quick lesson for you.

When you teleport in to Harlow, hit one of the teleport signs and go to the Docks. Once there, you will find a Vendor, as seen to the right. You have a couple of different rod options. For $250, you receive a "Pro" rod. This has all the bells and whistles and uses bait. For $100, you receive the "Casual" rod. You don't need bait and its a good rod for those who just want to hang out and fish without getting into the competitions and ratings of 7seas. If you do go for the Pro Rod, you start out with some bait (I think 50) and after that, you do need to purchase more from the vendor. $30 gets you a bucket of 100 pieces, and for $150, you get 600 pieces, which will keep you going for a while! Then all you need to do is rez the rod and wear it. The rods come with a gesture shortcut for casting (F2), so all you need to do is find a seat and enjoy yourselves. Its a fun way to spend time with your friends or just some quiet alone time. Plus at Harlow, you don't just catch little fishy friends, you also get the bonus of catching poses as well!

Zelly has also set up a contest board, so keep watch for a fishing competition in the near future! You never know what exciting goodies she has planned for Harlow!

Bumper Store Goodies Issue!

It feels like its been a very long time since I have shared goodies from the stores with you, so hold on to your hats, I have a BUMPER issue for you today!

Firstly, a reminder of the stores. We've had a fantastic response to the Sim and now have a wonderful selection of stores for you to wander around and browse in. We still have a couple of rentals left, including the 4 gorgeous stores on the dock. Even better news....Zelly has put in a 7seas fishing game!!!! Omg I am soooo addicted to that! I'm never gonna leave Harlow now!!! Especially with all the fab stores and things you can buy there!

Formerly known as Genesis, Exodi is the baby of one of the top talents in SL, Ryker Beck. I saw a picture of this unikini on her Plurk the other day and ended up in her store buying it, along with a few other goodies for another day's blog. Not only does Exodi have the essentials for summer, but there are also some of the most gorgeous skins I have seen in a while. I picked up the demos and am still trying to decide which one I was to buy. Its not easy when you have such fabulous choices! Exodi also has swim trunks for men, so guys, check them out!

Its no secret that a lot of people are in SL to make money. Whats less talked about though are the people who are in SL to make money for other causes. Every year things get harder for people to make ends meet, especially around Christmas. There's a special couple who stepped up and decided to do something about it, so every year they raise money so they can buy food and toys for the families in their town. The Feather River Toy Run usually this starts closer to December with cute little bears around in clubs and stores where people can donate lindens, but this year, they are starting early and using affiliate stores to help bump up proceeds. VTwins on Harlow is one of those stores. A percentage of anything bought in this store goes to help the needy families of Feather River this Christmas.

Another gothic inspired outfit from DollyRock. This one is a little more playful so I took a more playful picture. A sexy tank top with a skull and roses motif matches up with a cute little flexi skirt. Semi transparent knee high socks continue the motif with roses and leaves, or you can wear prim ankle socks in argyle. With this outfit comes a spikes armband and shoes to complete the look. DollyRock has always been a fav store of mine for good quality clothing at prices that won't break the bank, so check out the fabulous selection.

Dyn has also been a favourite store of mine for a long time. With new sexy clothing coming out all the time, its going to stay a fav for a long time. This dress is simply stunning! I love the asymetrical halter neckline and the fabric texture is just something to be seen. Its a gorgeous dress for a very special night out with your special someone. Be sure to look around and see the other amazing designs Dyn has in store. You won't be disappointed.

For all the budding ballerinas out there, you cannot go past the stunning new ballerina dress from Jazmyn D. I just love this highland inspired kilt outfit from Ali Couture. I was running around my home Sim screaming "FREEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM" in a very Mel Gibson way yesterday. Yeah my neighbours already know I'm nuts, so no harm, no foul there. A sexy tartan bodice draps down over the chest, teasingly exposing a little side boobage. A ragged flexi kilt skirt with a fantastic belt completes the look and then you are all set to go off invading England! Hmm I watch Braveheart a bit too much I think! If you haven't seen the incredibly sexy and detailed clothing Ali Couture has, then you don't know what you are missing!

I'm a huge fan of the t shirts people come up with in SL. There's so many crazy, creative, weird, funny ones available. T Junction has some fab shirts at really great prices. You get all layers so there's never a layering conflict, which is very good if you are a tatt wearer or just like wearing lots of layers. Of course I had to get this one, since in some circles my nickname is Cupcake lol. Although I think my friends would say its the wrong way around and should say Crazy Cupcake. I have cheeky friends! If you are crazy about cupcakes (the baked goods type, or even me if ya like) this is the shirt for you! If now, there's plenty more to choose from.

This is only a small selection from the amazing stores we have open for you at Harlow! You really need to take some time to walk around and take in all the wonderful creations from the talented designers we have with us. If your other half is tired of being dragged around looking at stores, he can sit on the dock and fish for a while and let you shop to your heart's content!

Both shapes are thicker than the usual Hollywood thin girls, but as Body Doubles says....thick is the new thin! Both shapes would make a gorgeous addition to your collection. And remember, you are buying the shape only. All skin, hair and clothing details comes in a styling card inside the box so you can make yourself over to look like the pictures.

I've just moved to a new Sim and I'm having fun exploring and making a new home for myself. On my travels I found the perfect spot for showing off the new lingerie from Jazmyn D. DollyRock has opened a new store on their Sim and its seriously wonderful! I had a great time looking around it on the weekend. Unfortunately I missed the opening party. Timezones being what they are, it was at around 4am my time and I was off dreaming about...well lets get back to the fabulous DollyRock. The Anita was the opening freebie, but its now being offered for sale. A strapless column melts down the body and a trainlike skirt adds a sexy touch. It looks great when you walk and so special when you are off dancing with your someone special. Don't forget to check out the incredible winning pictures from the DollyRock/photoLIFE competition. Zelly is back hard at work in her workshop this week and I am certainly looking forward to what she surprises us with this week! I'm sure its going to be spectacular!

Thuper Thursday Things!

Its Thursday which means...almost the weekend!!!! I have some great things for you today, so I'm going to jump right into it!

Her mother was human, her father a Vampire...she is neither. She is a Dhampir. Originally starting out as an action-adventure video game character, BloodRayne has inspired movies and even comic books. Body Doubles brings you BloodRayne as portrayed by Kristianna Loken in the 2006 movie, which I highly do not recommend seeing. The movie may suck eggs, but Rayne is a gorgeous Dhampir and is a shape all Vampire enthusiasts should have in their collection. This is one lady who kicks major butt! You need to have her in your shape collection!

I was looking through the amazing textures from Core, and found the perfect one for the picture backdrop. Featuring a gold skull and crossbones, this is an incredible texture and has such a lovely silky texture again. You need to check these out. They have so many uses and at $300 for a pack of 20, its a good buy.

Yes I'm still in Princess Mode and wearing my tiara. It just goes with everything and looks fabulous with these two gorgeous dresses from DollyRock! First we have the Georgette 2 dress which is a variation of the Georgette gown released last week to celebrate St George's Day in England. Tradition is to wear a red rose through your lapel...or in this case, all over a gorgeous dress. The Georgette 2 dress comes with the shoes featuring a tiny rose on the top. Just stunning. Also new this week is Alice - a playful and cute dress in a pink gingham check with tiny hearts dangling from the bottom of the skirt. Looks like DollyRock's Alice beat the Queen of Hearts and is sporting trophies! Run on in to the mainstore and look under the subscribo - which you neeeed to hit up - and you'll see the Choc Bunny shirt still out as the free gift.

From one of newest stores comes the patriotic Stars n Stripes dress. I feel like Miss America in this picture...and look like her too! Tiaras have that effect. From Rainbow's End, the Stars n Stripes dress comes with two skirt options...long and short...and also comes with shoes! The skirts look great when dancing and its just what you need cos July 4th isn't too far away really. Okay its 2 months away, but you can never have too much stuff right ladies??? Imagine all the parties and events you will need to dress up for! Like we need an excuse though!

I missed Ake yesterday, but she will be back with us tomorrow with more fabulous pictures and poses from Striking Poses to show us. I enjoy watching how she uses them in creative and inspiring ways.

The Boutique Stores are up on the third floor of the Striking Poses mainstore. There are teleporters dotted all around the store for a quick trip upstairs, or you can use the stairs. I just had to show off a gorgeous texture from Core. The stripes and finish gives the one I used an almost silky look that is classy yet keeps the grunge feel and look. Elegant is how I would describe the Mademoiselle Fleur dress. Its the classic strapless form fitting dress which ends just above the knees for a sexy touch. The fabric has a gorgeous starburst pattern which gives it a sparkling look without the bling. I have had the lusties for this dress for a while now, and when I saw it was down to $125, well its now in my inventory!!! For a sexy Autumn/Winter look (for us in the Southern Hemisphere anyway) is the Beans on Toast dress. I just love that name too. It comes with matching long socks with slouchies at the ankles and knees. The flares at the wrists and the low cut neckline give this dress a super sexy look for any professional lady or just for anyone who wants to dress to impress!

Another great classy professional look comes from the Alexis outfit from Clover. Comprising of a jacket layer pink top with a rolled neck collar and black belt over a black leather sculpted skirt, this is one fabulous ensemble for any occasion. For those glorious summer days comes the Summer Top. This can be worn two ways, as shown. For movement and a cute innocent look, there is the babydoll attachment which is just adorable or if tank tops are more your thing, you can wear it without the attachment for a classic tank look. Its always a nice surprise when I find gifts from our Boutiquers in hunts all over SL. Being a hunt junkie, I do a lot of them and I was over at Malt doing their Easter Egg hunt when I found an egg from Sweet! with six lovely shirts in it. The Spring Flower one is just so cute. From a distance it does look like the actual shirt is transparent and that you have nothing but flowers and leaves covering you, but its just an illusion from the pale beige fabric. I also found the cute Candy Bikini as a gift in the store over at Malt. Its perfect for summer, beautifully cut and looks like you are covered with M & Ms. Mmmmm I want more chocolate!

From Body Doubles I have 60s sex kitten Ann-Margaret for you today! Born in Sweden and raised in the States, Ann-Margaret went on to become a bombshell in movies and had a successful singing career as well. She has won 5 Golden Globes and also had Oscar, Emmy and Grammy nominations. Best known for her role in Viva Las Vegas opposite Elvis Presley, Ann-Margaret has had a wonderful career which is still going strong. You can be the original redhaired bombshell with this fabulous shape from Body Doubles. With it comes a styling note to help you pick the skin, hair and everything else to become the pictured and finished star.

The Boutique Stores are on the third floor of the mainstore in Glenn. If you are a total stairtard like me and have trouble navigating even the simplest stairs, there is a TP to the stores by the main entrance. All the stores are chock (there's that word again!) full of fabulous surprises and things to thrill and delight you. There are also LMs to their mainstores if you want to check out more of their ranges, so stop by and spend a bit of time browsing. You never know what you will find there.

Yay its a long weekend! As if that wasn't wonderful enough, its a long weekend PLUS chocolate!!!! Which reminds me, I should go stock up on more soon!

DollyRock does it again! Once again I am wowed by the detail and the loveliness of the items I'm sharing with you today. First is the sexy black lace dress - Delmelza. It comes with two flexi skirt options, a short and long one, which you can wear on their own, or together like I have. It comes with the long lacey gloves and stockings and is just a perfect dress for a sexy night with your sig other! May is a breath of fresh summery air after a long and cold winter. What I love about this dress is the detail that has gone into it. There are cute pink flowers moving down the bodice, and they also peek out from underneath the skirt in an underskirt layer. The flowers are incredible and the lace make this something you need to have in your inventory. The assymetrical skirt adds a cute touch too. If you love sexy corset sets as much as I do, run and snap this up! You are sure to tease and delight your man (or woman) when you wear this.

For a donation of $500 or more, this shape is all yours! I soooo need to get a male alt and get this shape for him so he can just stand around in my house looking edible! Look out for the third shape for RFL coming soon!
