Monday on Harlow.

Wow its November already. Where did this year go? Thinking back to where I was last year compared to this one, well a lot has changed. Mostly for the better.

Zelly's away on holiday, so the aliens have landed at Harlow and they are taking over!

Ok so its just me in my new toy...but OMG it sooo rocks!!!

From Fire Good, its the Bubble Floaty Spaceship! Omg this is just the BEST thing EVER! Simple to use, you just wear and turn off your ao then you can zoom around all over the grid invading and assimilating. It has cool spaceship sounds as you start walking or flying, flames and particles. Its just awesome! Available in 6 fabulous colours and only $250, you will love this as much as I do. Resistance is Futile!!!! I'm buying my best friend a bright pink one...as soon as he gets his butt back in here to go invading with me!!!!

In my case, my big wheeler! I'm such a rebel!

Oh Ali Couture is having a photo comp at the moment. You could win $1000 and be in the next new release picture. The pot at the fishing tournament got up to $1000 and everyone had a lot of fun fishing here at Harlow. Lazy Days and Mondays!

I just can't seem to kick start myself after the weekend...even though for me its Tuesday!!! Thats the disadvantage of being so after ahead of SLT. I either get confused and lost as to what day it is, or I just float along till it hits me that its one of my blogging days...and I almost forgot it AGAIN!!!

But I didn't and have been off taking pics for the past few hours...and then redoing them cos I forgot to reset my graphics or didn't notice something wrong with the prims etc. Ack editing is a pita!!!

Ali Couture is fast becoming one of my favourite stores in SL. Not only are the clothes sexy and fabulous, but there is something for every occasion. For those days when you feel like flamenco-ing through SL, there is the Delicia gown which comes with hair roses, comb and a fan (scripted and non-scripted). I went with a different windlight setting for this picture to highlight the fabulous and delicate textures used to make up this gorgeous gown. For a better look, click on the picture. Sexy black lace molds to your form and then explodes in a sea of ruffles down from your right hip. Its a stunner!

Is it just me or are the hairs from Calla getting more and more sexy and stylish? I also love the names used for them. It does look like a garden of hair every time I open my Calla hair folder. The Oleander is a stunning style that sweeps back from the forehead and falls down around the shoulders where it bounces up in soft curls, giving it a playful yet still sophistocated look. Available in 25 shades, you are sure to find the one for you!

It wouldn't be Monday without some new tees from T Junction. Omg I loooove this store and the stuff they find to put on their shirts. I never fail to laugh my butt off when I read the notecards and see the new releases. This week Cameron is trying to convince me he is with the FBI - Female Body Inspectors that is. Now anyone who knows me will have to say that the new shirt I am wearing could not be more appropriate - Brat. Of course I have no idea why they would think that!!!

I found these the other day when I was cleaning out my inventory, which seems to be a never ending ordeal for me. They were made for the Fashion Expo, so I have no idea if they are available for sale anymore, or if there are different colours. I thought I would simply show the detail and exquisiteness of the silks from Silk & Satyr. I popped into the Harlow store and was awed by the Cascading range of silks and the gorgeous gowns sold there. I envy the winner who walked away with the $1200 gift cert to this store at the street party. Check them out, and hit the subscribo and you will receive a wonderful gift. Also don't forget their opening special earrings.

Sneaking in on Monday...Just!

Eep I'm cutting it close with the post today. I hit a "no motivation" spot this morning and kept putting things off and now rushing to get in before its Tuesday and Ake's posting day! I do have some awesome things for you today though, so let's get to it.

I just LOVE this gown! In fact I haven't taken it off since Alia sent it to me, except for doing other pictures that is anyway. Its just the most stunning thing I have ever seen...and thats saying something. With three versions of the bodice (standard, see through and a prim draped version) and a gorgeous rose trimmed skirt, its spectacular and looks incredible when you're dancing. It also comes with the roses for your hair. This is a definate MUST HAVE gown!!!

Another one of my favourite designs from MEB is the Prada dress. Its simply lovely! I love the delicacy of it and the muted colouring. It flows amazingly and is an elegant summer dress for any special occasion. Its dressy enough to go from shopping trip to a night out dancing. You will fall in love with this dress too, or maybe something else in the store. All the designs are something special!

Omg just when I thought I couldn't laugh anymore, I opened my new releases from T Junction and found some of the best shirts yet!!!! For Cam - "Buy me another beer, you're still ugly" which did have me wishing I could ctrl alt del him!!!! Here we are hanging out at the Bewitched set in the Studio. Have you checked it out yet? We have cleverly replicated the living room from bewitched and its open for you to come have some fun with and its also the setting for our photo competition. Don't forget to check out T Junction for the funniest tees in SL!

RLF is owned by a new designer just wetting her feet in the clothing field and her first attempt, the Scotty Shorts, are just super. They are unisex and look good on whether you are a male or female. Cameron modelled them for me earlier and he looked hot in them, but I pinched them back cos I love them! I slipped into yet another T Junction release - Come to the dark side...we have cookies! Mmmm cookies! Look out dark side, here I come! RLF also do custom shapes as well as some standard models sold in store.

Ali-Oop!

Omg it soooo good to be back! I am still bummed out at missing the huge opening party last weekend, but my computer seems to have a sixth sense of when I really need it...and it dies a day or two ahead of then, usually on the weekend when I can't do a thing about it, and then by the time all is hunky dory again, I have missed what I needed it for. I swear my computer is male!!!

I have been working like anything to catch up on picture taking for a super store blog for you on Monday. Today I am going to continue the interviews with our designers from Harlow with the fabulously gorgeous Alia Rabeni from Ali Couture.

Who is Alia Rabeni :
A passionate, sword wielding designer who may go from 0 to bitch in a few seconds!!! I came in here to beat this game in less than 5 days tops! Realized soon that it wasn't just a game. Alia was just a character and now she is part of me and has made some of the most wonderful closest friends ever! The friends who hold my heart have become MY PIXELATED OBSESSIONS.

How did you get into designing :
You know there are soooo many things to do in SL. I tried a lot and till now still trying some more. One day I thought hmmmm let me place two prims together, started rotating and cutting and voila my first skirt! I made my first outfit soon after FOR ME. Then a friend saw it and said "oh where did you get that?" I was like "huh.. this? I made it." She asked for one in a specific color and she was my first customer. I didnt charge her cuz she had given me Glitter shooz. Hahahahaha OK so I WAS a noob too ONCE and bling was in!!!!!

What would you say your main inspiration is :
My main inspiration for designing depends on what I feel like, who I talk to, someone I see. Colors , words , thoughts inspire me. Or lets say I'm in RP and wanna kick someones ass...there comes my next outfit :))

Does your Ali Couture style reflect your RL style :
I'm rather conservative in RL but you know how it goes. Deep down inside each girl wants a pair of thigh high leather boots, mini mini mini skirt, a body hugging corset and yielding a sword that will scare the living daylights out of every man.

What would you say your design niche is :
Basically RPG again with the leather and chains, but you know what, like I stated before...I get inspired with a phrase, a word, a color, a feelin. So for example if you catch me today.. I'm making a flamenco dress cuz I just feel "Spanish' today.

What is your favourite creation : Oh my .. my favorite creation.. eeks that's hard they are all my babies. You see, everytime I make an outfit its hard for me to take it off. Some I wear for weeks until my friends tell me "um are you gonna ever change?" I would say for now my "Day of the Dead" outfit. Black leather pants with skulls and a black matching jacket. But in a few days maybe my blue jeans with a belt buckle that says "Stubborn Mexican"

What is the one you wish had stayed in your head :
Hahahaha thats funny really ... ok for all those who love Lady Gaga here it goes. I was into her for a few weeks made my own version of Poker Face. Yeah pretty much retired that puppy soon after I made it. One Designer showed up at my store when I was practically giving it away and I noticed she bought it I gave her her money back. I'm like NOOOOO you can't pay for that one...!!!!!

What is the biggest challenge facing designers today :
I believe SL is huge and everyone should do what they want to do here. There is room for everyone. If you want to design, go right ahead, but there is sooo much competition out there. There are some awesome designers in here and sometimes if you are starting out its hard to find your clientele. Its all pounding the pavement and finding your group.

Whats the biggest benefit for designers in SL : That my beautiful biting customers like pixelated fashion!!!!!! Are you kidding, I still get a kick out of seeing someone wearing my designs!!!! I get a benefit everytime my customers say they love my clothes!!! Its because OF THEM that we are who WE are!!!!! Sometimes designers get up in themselves - Don't IM me, Don't write to me, Don't look at me, Don't talk to me blah blah blah. Come on its YOU my twinkle eyed avatar customers WHO MADE ME , YOU MADE ALI COUTURE!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Where do you see yourself and Ali Couture this time next year :
WOW a few weeks in SL seem like a year!!! But thats what I said almost 2 years ago!! Well I hope I'm still here next year!! As for Ali Couture, it will be what my Biters make it, as it always has been. There was one instance when someone I guess was having a bad day and decided to use group chat to talk about Ali Couture and it was amazing the response that he got. I sat back and watched line after line coming from my customers from everywhere coming to my aid. Now THAT is worth more than any lindens I may make.

Where do you like to shop :
Well basically I became a designer because I wanted a certain look so I wear my own clothes most of the time. If I like a store though I usually buy THE WHOLE STORE. I did that recently hahaahahah as a matter of fact. But........................................hair and shoez OMG!!! Thats where you will find me. I cannot stop buying either of them!!!!!!!!

What is your biggest fashion weakness :
TIME. ... TIME....TIME...... I have soooo many ideas, soooo many designs, sooooo many designs for MEN but not enough TIME.

What do you do in SL when you're not designing :
SEX , j/k... I am a member of a Samurai Clan. I kill avis for a living .... and LOVE IT!!!!

What is something no-one knows about you :
That I'm a pixel lover!!!! I am a gamer outside of MSL. One of my old time favorite games is The Prince of Persia The Two Thrones.......and I had a secret crush on 'The Prince ". So when I found out about SL, I came in here looking for my prince and actually came in here to find hacks and finish this game off in a week. Well that didn't work, its never ending!!!!! But thats another story. Anyway....... two week into SL I was in a club, learning how to pan etc and OMG...there he was at the other end of the club. The heavens opened, angels descended and started their angelic chants. The Prince.....HERE...... IN SL. I quickly found out how to IM him. He asked me to dance and there I was in the arms of MY PRINCE finally. Later I found out he was twice my age and retired.. :))))

Bumper Store Goodies Issue!

It feels like its been a very long time since I have shared goodies from the stores with you, so hold on to your hats, I have a BUMPER issue for you today!

Firstly, a reminder of the stores. We've had a fantastic response to the Sim and now have a wonderful selection of stores for you to wander around and browse in. We still have a couple of rentals left, including the 4 gorgeous stores on the dock. Even better news....Zelly has put in a 7seas fishing game!!!! Omg I am soooo addicted to that! Formerly known as Genesis, Exodi is the baby of one of the top talents in SL, Ryker Beck. I saw a picture of this unikini on her Plurk the other day and ended up in her store buying it, along with a few other goodies for another day's blog. Not only does Exodi have the essentials for summer, but there are also some of the most gorgeous skins I have seen in a while. I picked up the demos and am still trying to decide which one I was to buy. Its not easy when you have such fabulous choices! Exodi also has swim trunks for men, so guys, check them out!

Its no secret that a lot of people are in SL to make money. Whats less talked about though are the people who are in SL to make money for other causes. Every year things get harder for people to make ends meet, especially around Christmas. There's a special couple who stepped up and decided to do something about it, so every year they raise money so they can buy food and toys for the families in their town. The Feather River Toy Run usually this starts closer to December with cute little bears around in clubs and stores where people can donate lindens, but this year, they are starting early and using affiliate stores to help bump up proceeds. VTwins on Harlow is one of those stores. A percentage of anything bought in this store goes to help the needy families of Feather River this Christmas.

Another gothic inspired outfit from DollyRock. This one is a little more playful so I took a more playful picture. A sexy tank top with a skull and roses motif matches up with a cute little flexi skirt. Semi transparent knee high socks continue the motif with roses and leaves, or you can wear prim ankle socks in argyle. With this outfit comes a spikes armband and shoes to complete the look. DollyRock has always been a fav store of mine for good quality clothing at prices that won't break the bank, so check out the fabulous selection.

Dyn has also been a favourite store of mine for a long time. With new sexy clothing coming out all the time, its going to stay a fav for a long time. This dress is simply stunning! I love the asymetrical halter neckline and the fabric texture is just something to be seen. Its a gorgeous dress for a very special night out with your special someone. Be sure to look around and see the other amazing designs Dyn has in store. You won't be disappointed.

I just love this highland inspired kilt outfit from Ali Couture. I was running around my home Sim screaming "FREEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM" in a very Mel Gibson way yesterday. Yeah my neighbours already know I'm nuts, so no harm, no foul there. A sexy tartan bodice draps down over the chest, teasingly exposing a little side boobage. A ragged flexi kilt skirt with a fantastic belt completes the look and then you are all set to go off invading England! Hmm I watch Braveheart a bit too much I think! If you haven't seen the incredibly sexy and detailed clothing Ali Couture has, then you don't know what you are missing!

I'm a huge fan of the t shirts people come up with in SL. There's so many crazy, creative, weird, funny ones available. T Junction has some fab shirts at really great prices. You get all layers so there's never a layering conflict, which is very good if you are a tatt wearer or just like wearing lots of layers. Of course I had to get this one, since in some circles my nickname is Cupcake lol. Although I think my friends would say its the wrong way around and should say Crazy Cupcake. I have cheeky friends! If you are crazy about cupcakes (the baked goods type, or even me if ya like) this is the shirt for you! If now, there's plenty more to choose from.

Some Goodies For Monday!

I was distracted by something shiny last week and totally forgot to share with you this absolutely gorgeous dress from Pout. It can work in so many ways, as a playsuit with the shorts, as a slim knee length dress or with the shorter flippy skirt that has great movement and is sure to get you noticed! You could even wear the top with jeans or a pair of smart trousers. The fabric is amazing! I love the silky sheen and oriental feel of the design on it. There's 8 colours to choose from, this blue is my favourite though. What I love about hunts is the little extras you find in stores along the way. At Jazmyn D I found the Midnight Mania board, so I slapped it and got my name into the draw and luckily so did 99 other people, cos look what I received at midnight! You cannot go past a lovely sparklie dress, especially one in such a vibrant shade of red! On the back is a heart shaped cutout which gives it a lovely touch. After slapping the board, I found the Discovery Gift. Called tasty, you receive a lovely vest top with a cute little design on the bodice and a skirt which can be worn with or without the tights.

Ok are those pasties just the coolest things ever or what? Little pink heart hide your important bits while big black hands cover the rest! I think they are just so much fun! Perfect for those "Barely There" events too or just for teasing your partner. They look great with the shorts too! I love cats! When I saw this at the Core mainstore, it was an immediate purchase. Its nice having a big friend you can cuddle up with and I tend to do that a lot lately. Also when I was there, I slapped Core's Midnight Mania board and wo0t! I received a pack of 10 cute Grunge Floral textures! I've used them for cushion textures in my house and even photo surrounds. They are so versatile. I've transparented (is that even a word?) the one I used by 50% and it still looks fab!
